Abstract
The suite of Job Search Skills modules supports learners in identifying their work integrated learning (WIL) requirements and finding relevant opportunities in their field. Key employability and networking skills are introduced and are applied to the development of effective resumes, references, and cover letters. Modules include:
Module 2.1 – Finding and Evaluating Job Opportunities This module will assist participants to refine basic skills in seeking and assessing job opportunities as they prepare for WIL experiences.
Module 2.2 – Employability and Transferable Skills This module includes content and activities that will introduce participants to key employability skills that are highly sought-after by employers. Participants will reflect upon and critically assess their existing employability skills and will review strategies for further developing and refining them.
Module 2.3 – Writing a Resume and Reference Page This module includes content and activities that will help participants develop a comprehensive resume and references page that effectively highlights their academic and professional experiences and is tailored to their chosen field.
Module 2.4 – Writing a Cover Letter This module includes content and activities that will help participants develop an effective cover letter that effectively highlights their academic and professional experiences and is tailored to a specific job or placement opportunity.
Module 2.5 – Networking Strategies This module includes content and activities that will help participants assess their existing professional and academic networks and consider strategies for making new connections, including face-to-face and social media approaches
